The match against National School was a tightly contested game, with both teams playing some great quality, action-packed, high-energy football. Belton Lane created many chances and were deserving of a goal, but after 20 minutes of normal time, there was nothing to separate the two sides. For the second time in a row, Belton Lane’s match was to be decided by a penalty shootout.

In the shootout, Belton Lane were not quite as fortunate as they had been previously and were defeated 3-2, with the final penalty hitting the post. Huge credit goes to the children who bravely volunteered to take a penalty and every member of the squad should be proud of their efforts in achieving a second-place finish in a tough tournament.

Mr Kightley and Miss Dobbin are extremely proud of our runners up and thank our school community for showing their support. We also hope everybody enjoyed Grantham’s ‘Non-league Day’ event after our game and hope to see you at the next one!

Our gymnasts formed three teams across the Under 9’s and Under 11’s mixed and girls categories, competing both as part of a team and individually. Their dedication has been outstanding, giving up their lunch times to attend training sessions and competing across a full Sunday—an effort that truly paid off.

A huge congratulations to:
🥇 Our Under 11’s Mixed A Team for achieving 1st place in the mixed team competition 
🥉 Our Under 9’s Girls Team for securing 3rd place
🥈 Aaron S for an amazing 2nd place in the Boys Individual Competition

All of our gymnasts represented the school brilliantly with determination, teamwork, and excellent sportsmanship. Well done to everyone involved—you should be very proud of yourselves! 👏

We then faced the first place team from the other group and played an outstanding match, coming away with a well deserved win. This meant we progressed to the final, playing for either gold or silver.

Although we lost our final match, we are incredibly proud to have finished in second place overall and to have won silver medals. Even more exciting, we have automatically qualified to represent the county, which is an amazing accomplishment for the whole team.

Well done to everyone involved for their hard work, teamwork and excellent sportsmanship.

They participated in a variety of minigames involving plenty of skills, drills and challenges. The girls got to develop their confidence with the ball at their feet and thoroughly enjoyed their morning in the sun!

They participated in some thrilling matches during the league phase, winning 4 games, drawing 1 game and only losing 2 games out of 7. This form placed them in the semi-final of the competition against league leaders Long Bennington. After a challenging match which finished 0-0 in normal time, it had to be settled on penalties where Belton Lane came out on top 3-2. This qualified the team for the final, which takes place on 28^th March, on the first team pitch at the South Kesteven Sports Stadium, prior to Grantham Town FC’s own home fixture! We are thrilled to be able to invite our children, parents/carers and friends of the school to come and show your support for our amazing team on the day!

The colourful costumes, lively characters and plenty of audience participation made it a truly memorable experience for everyone. The children absolutely loved it!

A huge thank you to Lincolnshire Fire Service for an exciting and educational experience.

Nominated by their teachers for their enthusiasm, effort, and passion for history, the children were treated to a unique experience hosted by local historian Nick Bason. Nick shared fascinating insights into the site, where the team is searching for evidence of the original Harlaxton Manor.

The children were captivated as they explored the dig trenches, spotting clues themselves and asking lots of brilliant questions. Their curiosity and keen eyes made the afternoon even more memorable!

A huge thank you to Nick for such an inspiring visit — it truly brought history off the page and into real life.

Richard delivered an inspirational assembly, emphasising that everyone will have a “golden medal moment” whether that is in sport, the classroom, careers or another key moment in their future. He spoke about celebrating difference and the importance of never giving up.

There were three categories to work towards, the Bronze Award, Silver Award and Gold Award. We are delighted to announce that, after all their hard work, the ambassadors achieved the highest award – Gold!

Here they are receiving their award with paralympic gold medallist Jonathan Broom-Edwards at the annual Inspire+ Mini Olympics.

We then went to The Reading Room to listen to some ocean themed stories.  A big thank you to Laura for hosting us - what a beautiful book shop you have!

Year 2 were a credit to our school with super manners and great listening skills.

In the afternoon the children turned themselves into a Pharoah through a piece of artwork.

We learnt so many new things and even got to see the blue lights and hear the siren!

Thank you to everyone from Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue for visiting us today. We all loved it!

The decorations were made by our reception and year 6 children working collaboratively with the theme of woodland animals.
