Year 3 to Flag Fen
This event will take place on 04/11/2025
Year 3 are visiting Flag Fen near Peterborough, which is a Bronze Age archaeological site to find out what life was like for our prehistoric ancestors. This is to support our Stone Age topic work. Our day will involve a guided tour of the Flag Fen site exploring the reconstructed Roundhouse. This will involve us being outside on uneven and possibly muddy ground so children will need to wear sensible footwear – trainers would be preferable (wellies if the weather is wet) and they must bring a warm waterproof coat and full school uniform must be worn. Other activities include making clay pots and an archaeological dig.
Any medication for travel sickness should be administered before school and one tablet, in a named, sealed envelope, should be given to the class teacher on the morning of the trip, for the return journey..
A voluntary contribution of £19 is requested per child. No child will be excluded from the visit due to the inability to pay, however, if sufficient funds are not raised, the trip may not be able to take place. Your child should come to school with a packed lunch and drinks for the day. Non fizzy drinks and no glass bottles are allowed.
