Glory to Belton Basketball Team
Once again, our basketball team headed out, this time to Jesse Gray School. This was possibly our hardest match so far this season. Jesse Gray had two teams of equal strength containing nine club players and four county players. So far this season they had played and won fourteen matches, but we were out to change that. And so we did. In emphatic style too. First we beat them with an unstoppable amount and range of passes and shots. The whistle sounded, the final score an enormous 54 - 16 to Belton Lane. The next game, Jesse Gray played hard from the outset. But even their best efforts were not enough. The finishing scoreline was 46 - 20. Our first result of the night is now officially the highest winning score this season in the entire Nottinghamshire League. We are now putting in even more time and effort to prepare for the County tournament which we have been invited to represent Lincolnshire in, which includes training at Priory Ruskin on a Friday night to build up our fitness and stamina, also giving us as a team experience playing on a full sized court.
