Tag Rugby Team
Last week, on Thursday 30th April, our tag rugby team ventured out on their annual trip to the rugby ground at Woodnook. Here, the tournament took place and it was where each team experienced the thrills and spills of the sport. We won five out of the seven games we played, drew one and lost one.
There were two pools, each consisting of eight teams and the top two teams in each pool qualified for the semi finals. Our results were good enough to earn us 1st place in our pool, meaning that Belton Lane progressed to the final stages of the competition: the last four. Unfortunately, we lost to Ropsley and played in the 3rd place playoff against Harlaxton 'A' team to whom we lost, drawing the tournament to a close and putting us at a very respectable 4th place out of sixteen teams. This is our best result from this competition since five years ago when we were in exactly the same posititon.
On Thursday 7th May our basketball team competed in the first rally that we had entered this summer. We went to Canarvon school and played a series of short matches against a number of other teams. We played X, Y and Z and won/lost all/1/2 of them.
Good luck to the cross country runners racing on the evening of Thursday 7th May and Year 6 who are siting their SATs during the week commencing 11th May.
